Production begins on the “Rocket,” a coach-built carbon fiber 725hp super mustang project by Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker

Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) and Henrik Fisker announced today the start of low-volume production on the 725hp coach-built super Mustang dubbed “The Rocket,” which was first unveiled as a prototype last November during the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The first production model will make its world debut at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, March 14, where a select number of media will also have the opportunity to drive it.

Production of the car by Galpin and Henrik Fisker represents the commitment to build a limited number of vehicles to sell to collectors and automotive enthusiasts alike after the car received a positive reception in Los Angeles last year.

HENRIK FISKER PARTNERED WITH GALPIN TO DEVELOP “THE ULTIMATE AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR” – A LOW VOLUME CARBON FIBER COACH BUILT MUSTANG WITH UP TO 725 HP.

“When Henrik Fisker showed me his ideas, I got chills – it’s literally the most beautiful Mustang I have ever seen,” says Beau Boeckmann. Both Henrik Fisker and Galpin have a long history with specialty coach-building cars, and draw their inspiration from pony cars of the 60’s and 70’s. Together the team created a sculpted, sleek design and loaded it with power and performance enhancements that rival supercars. The Rocket’s lines emanate from the front, through the long hood, over a set of sculptured flared fenders and converge on its integrated
rear spoiler, belying the car’s extreme power and refined athleticism. The handmade carbon-fiber body—constructed by renowned concept car builder, Metalcrafters, Inc.—features a front splitter that works simultaneously with the rear spoiler, enlarged rear diffuser and carbon fiber aero skirts to provide high-speed downforce. The supercharged V8 sits on ADV.1 wheels wrapped in Pirelli extreme performance tires. Together, Fisker and Galpin bring you THE ROCKET!
